Freedom of Information Act
Under the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, certain federal documents are to be made public. All federal agencies are required to comply with FOIA, but there are challenges. Understanding how to conduct FOIA requests is the difference between receiving no documentation or receiving responsive information.
Pre-Publication Review
Pre-publication review is the process to determine that information proposed for public release contains no protected information, is consistent with established federal and agency specific guidelines. If, for example, you were employed by the Intelligence Community or the Department of Defense, coordinating manuscripts through the pre-publications review board may be a requirement.
